Teaching the adafruit mini Pan-Tilt to sword fight

So, my star wars obsessed seven year old and I bought our first arduino at Christmas. Its taken us a few weeks (and three generations of my family) to get it up and running, but we are finally making ground on our project.

I was trying to find a way to help him and his sister learn angles, and between us we came up with this:

Ingredients:

  • 1 x Adafruit pan/tilt from pimoroni,
  • 0.3 x dead action man
  • 1 x drinking straw
  • 1 x green led

One he got the hang of pointing it where he wanted to using .write(angle), I re-coded it to see if I could get a sine wave feeding into a basic defensive pattern. Actually works quite well, I think.

Thanks Richard. Its a small victory, but Iā€™m still amazed at how quickly these things come to fruition. Breadboard and an IDE are serious game-changers for me.
