# Display-O-Tron HAT - Inside a case

Is it possible to use the capacitive Buttons of Display-O-Tron HAT inside a case. For example behind a acrylic glass pane?  
Or any other Material?

Do i need to stick copper contacts on the inside?

It’s possible to turn up the sensitivity so that they work through a thin layer- perhaps up to 3mm. It’s been a while since I tested it, and I can’t recall if I left it documented/supported in the library, but it’s possible in theory!
