Hallowing, what did I burn

Hi,
I got my Adafruit Hallowing and was playing around with it, when I decided to try the Neopixel JST plug with
a non-Neopixel WS2812B ring that had the same plug, but obviously not the same connections on it.
As soon as I plugged it into the Hallowing began to smoke and I pulled it out quickly. Now, the Hallowing still
works with the pre-installed sketch, so I am not sure what went up in smoke. Now I am wondering what the plug
is connected to and what was burnt.
I would be grateful if you could give me some information.

You might be better off asking at Adafruit’s support forums, since it’s their product.

Looking over the schematic - https://learn.adafruit.com/assets/63150 - it’s possible you shorted V+ to the D4 line and potentially fried the protection circuit on that pin but I’m not certain.

Thanks,
I did not find the schematic at Adafruit, but now that I can see it, that seems to be what happened. So hopefully, I just fried that part and the rest will still work. Of course, GND and V+ were switched on my plug,
