I was looking at the HyperPixel 4.0 for use on the SOQuartz compute module by pine64, which due to its newness only has one os prebuilt for it, manjaro arm. My main question is would I be ok manually installing the driver and would it still work.

In general Pimoroni only support Raspberry Pi OS, as there are too many other OSes to work with. There’s no guarantee that the software they’ve written will work with (or be available on) other platforms, you’d have to try it and see. Unless you _really_ need to use that combination of hardware, and unless you’re very comfortable troubleshooting hardware without official support, it’s probably not worth it.
