I just purchased a Raspberry Pi Zero WH (pre soldered header model) and a Pirate Audio from the Pi shop in Cambridge. I’ve installed Raspbian from scratch so it’s completely fresh. I’ve also tried this twice with fresh installs…

I’ve followed this guide: [https://learn.pimoroni.com/tutorial/sandyj/getting-started-with-pirate-audio](https://learn.pimoroni.com/tutorial/sandyj/getting-started-with-pirate-audio)

specifically by doing the following:

```
git clone https://github.com/pimoroni/pirate-audio
cd pirate-audio/mopidy
sudo ./install.sh
```

the install appears successful as it says “All Done”, however the pirate audio board just shows a black screen although backlight so there’s clearly power. I’ve attempted to go to to the pis local ip like this [http://192.168.0.28:6680/](http://192.168.0.28:6680/) but nothing loads.

Is the board broken?

I attach the full output below:

I’m also having similiar problems. followed instructions per web page
no output on pirate audio screen

also received a couple failure messages on install:
mobidy.service does not exist
failed to enable unit: unit file mopidy.service does not exist
unable to restart mopidy.service: unit mobidy.service not found

unable to locate package mopidy-spotify

running unit on a raspbery pi 3b
fresh install of raspbian on 32gb sd card
raspbian seems to be working fine

I’m sending this message from the Raspberry Pi I’m trying to get the hat to work with.

is there any thing I can do to manually install mopidy?
since that seems to be at least part of the problem…

Your issue is likely different as mine managed to find and start the moped service

Well I finally got the screen to work., had to manually install Mopidy
now it runs and I get my ip address and port number on the tiny little screeen.
But there seems to be a problem with different versions of software.

the errror I get now is Mopidy-Iris requires Python 3.7but the running python is 2.7.16
so as a BETA tester I’d have to say the install script isn’t installing something correctly.
I used a fresh sd card and download of Raspian-Buster 2020-02-13
and now I’m trying to find and patch all the missing bits to get a working Mopidy web interface client.

Don’t mind the detective work for myself, I was a Unix admin decades ago and know how to chase things down. I feel sorry for my brother he’s an Apple man, and I got him one of these Pirate Audio cards for his Birthday. I’m sure he’ll be pulling his hair out…

well if I ever get this thing working, I’ll give him a copy of my sd card to get him started. hope I can get fixed before his next birthday rolls around.

If I can ever get this sorted properly, I’d like to put together a few of these as clients on Squeezeserver I’m running for my Logitech Squeezebox radios.

well it beats wasting time watching TV at least. and it uses whatever brain cells are still firing at this point.

Same issues here with the Iris install in mopidy

Can we just download a working image of the whole setup instead?

I’ve tried on 2 version of Raspian buster
Hardware is Pi zero W with headers and Pirate Audio
Fresh card for each.

Fist time I ran the install script …

```auto
git clone https://github.com/pimoroni/pirate-audio
cd pirate-audio/mopidy
sudo ./install.sh
```

each time when it was collecting mopidy-iris the download would only get so far 8% or so then my wifi dropped out when it was trying to install Iris… odd

Tired again after sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Seemed to get a little bit further

I tried Iris install with PIP
sudo python3 -m pip install Mopidy-Iris

Then back to the

```auto
git clone https://github.com/pimoroni/pirate-audio
cd pirate-audio/mopidy
sudo ./install.sh
```

Seems to have run the install… but nothing
Black screen
Any advice?
