Tufty2350 v3.0.2 no boot into disk mode using double tab

I just got my Tufty2350 and decided to follow the update procedure to get the latest version v3.0.2 installed. After finishing the file upload to the “RP2350” device, it reboots into the “normal” operation mode, displaying the menu for selecting the different apps.

Going in to disk mode via the “Mass Storage” app does work.

But If I double tab the RESET button to put the device into disk mode, the screen goes blank and no disk appears. Pressing the HOME or RESET does nothing, the only way to get the device working again is to re-flash the firmware using the update procedure.

I guess this behaviour is not intended, I hope you can assist me in fixing this issue

When / if it locks up again, try unplugging the battery and then pressing reset. Then plug the battery back in and see if you can get it to boot up without having to reflash it.
I had a similar issue way back when I first got my Tufty 2350. I could have sworn I had posted it on the forum, but can’t find it?
Before the day is out I’ll see what flashing V3 too mine does. I have to backup some files first etc.

EDIT: I just flashed mine with tufty-v3.0.2-micropython-with-filesystem.uf2
I can enter USB Disk Mode via the App, and by double pressing the Reset Button.

You did use the with-filesystem uf2 right? I’m thinking you must have, or you wouldn’t have all the APPs?

Yes, I used the same firmware you provided, with the filesystem.

Unplugging the battery, pressing reset and pluggin the battery back in seems to have solved the issue.

So thank you for your advice!

Ah, that’s good to hear. Something weird happens in the background “I guess”? I swapped out the main.py for my App. It’s all I ever run on mine, unless I’m doing testing for an issue posted on the forum.
