I don’t suppose it would be safe to operate Unicorn Hat HD (but not the Raspberry Pi / Feather / etc.) at slightly higher than 5V, to make the LED’s brighter?
I’m projecting the light from my Unicorn Hat HD thru an Ektanar 102 mm lens onto a screen. But as LED tech improves and the other Christmas lights in my holiday display get brighter, the projection is getting harder to make out in the cacophony.
