Which M.2 SSDs for Base / Base Duo

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for M.2 drives for the NVMe Base / Base Duo. The list of kinda-compatible drives on the NVME Base product page seems to reference drives that have been superseded.

I notice the following on the Base Duo product page :

”In general, as the drives are behind the switch and not being used at boot we’ve found a much wider range of drives to be working and useful compared to the standard NVMe Base

I didn’t pick-up on that, when I was first looking into this a few weeks back.

So the NVMe Base supports booting from M.2 (the Base Duo didn’t but now does), but is far more fussy with the drives it’ll work with. The other impression I have is to stick with Phison controllers, and avoid SanDisk.

So what would people recommend? I’m looking at 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. Price will likely be the main consideration…….as will the TBW figure. If the drives will behave themselves with PCIe gen3 enabled, that would also be advantageous.

Thanks in advance.
