Argon One case

Is it possible to power this using PoE?

Hi, can I just clarify which Argon case you’re referring to, please?

This one? With or without the SSD.

If so, as far as I’m aware at least, there’s no PoE option for it. The Pi is powered by the case via the GPIO pins internally.

The Pi’s PoE header is just behind the LAN jack as shown below:

Hope that helps.

The Argon Neo case, could mount a PoE hat as it has a removable top cover. The good ship Pimoroni can sell you one if desired.

I’m referring to the Argin One as per the post title.

The Argon Forty case is designed to operate from it’s USB-C power socket as it intercepts the input power to operate the case fan and control the power via the power button to the Raspberry Pi.
I don’t think that the case fan or power on/off button will work properly if power is applied directly to the PI’s GPIO pins (as the POE HAT is designed to do).

The “embedded” Pi 4 within this case only brings out the 40-pin GPIO’s to the top magnetic plate and there’s no access to the POE pins so the official POE HAT won’t work mechanically let alone electrically with this case.
