Bruce, did you get this sorted?
I think you are right, so another data point for this: I have 9SE000-drive, it does NOT work.
Finally have my RPi and NVME base working - Pimoroni have been absolutely GREAT at helping me through my issues.
Now on to the real project. I aim to use it to download energy price data from the Octopus Agile Tariff, analyse that data and choose the cheapest time of day to use electricity and use MQTT to drive a couple of relays to run a couple of devices (like my hot water heater).
HUGE thanks to Pimoroni - I have been buying most of my stuff from them, but now they have me as a customer for life!
Bruce
Glad to hear it’s all worked out.
Pimoroni are very good at sorting out issues like this and that to me sets them out from the other suppliers.
And another datapoint. I have the 9SE000 variant. It is not working.
Although when there are no partitions on it and the boot order is set to try the nvme first, then the disk ís recognised.(NVMe base isn't recognized - #16 by bohr)
Hello guys, I am new here, due to waiting for my board to arrive i have ordered this P310… and now I am reading it will not work…?
Should I retrun it?
The current evidence suggests it may well not; however, I will be very interested to hear your experience, either way!
Heh. Thanks but I’m not going to try to see if it will work or not. I ordered the Lexar NM620
Holy thread resurrection!
…but I’m just posting to say that my WD Black SN770 (2TB) is working with a very similar config to the OP (I’m using an Anker power plug instead of the official PSU). Found this thread when trying to get it to work.
Turns out that “dtparam=pciex1_gen=3” in config.txt was necessary to get it to function. Without that line, lspci would show the drive, but the SD card copy wouldn’t work. With it, the copy succeeded and it booted from NVME without the SD card. There was an EEPROM update from April to May in there, too, so that probably doesn’t hurt to do 😀 Will report back if I have any trouble using the faster PCIe mode.
