Inky Impression mounting holes covered

Possibly a very stupid question, but why are the mounting holes on my Inky Impression 4" covered with what seems to be clear plastic or glass?

I’ve tried gently pushing down with the included mounting screws, and scratching off with my finger nails. No dice. With any more pressure, I feel like I’ll damage the board.

If this is intentional, how do others securely mount their Inky to their Pi board?

That’s protective tape that covers the screw threads during manufacturing, it’s reasonably sticky stuff but you should be able to scrape it off with a fingernail or other metal tool :)

Ah, you’re right. Just a bit more perseverance and some longer nails did the trick. Now my stupidity is immortalised on the internet. But seriously, thank you!
