Trouble connecting Pi Zero W to Inky Impression 7.3''

Hey there,

I recently bought an Inky Impression 7.3’’ and a Raspberry Pi Zero W from Pimoroni with a 40 pin header pre-soldered. This is my first project like this, so this may sound like a stupid question, but is there anything to look out for when trying to connect the pins to the socket on the display? I can line up the pins to the holes, but I’m finding it impossible to push them in completely. They won’t move a single bit after like a millimetre or so of entry, and applying more pressure feels really scary. I fear I might damage something.

Is this supposed to be like this? I noticed that the pins are not perfectly lined up either, as in I can’t insert them straight from the top, I have to nudge some of them slightly from the side.

The attached picture shows how far I can push them before I give up. It’s basically nothing.
