Inky pHAT - quick and dirty mode?

As you know, I love my Inky pHAT - it does take a while to update the display, however. I assume this is to ensure every pixel is written over and refreshed properly and all the flashing is to avoid the ‘ghosting’ I saw on my old Kindle and other cheap eBook readers. The results do look stunning.

I was wondering, though, if there is a possibility of a ‘quick and dirty’ utility mode for the Inky pHAT that would allow text to be displayed more quickly (and in worse quality) for applications where speed was more important than looking pretty?

Not that I’ve found- the update process is handled entirely by the device itself. :( Even partial updates run at the same rate.

Ah, never mind! Good things come to those who wait :)
