I have a Pico 2 W and Pico Display 2.8 and i can’t find Firmware that supports picographics.

Is there an official .uf2 file available.

I did look but I cannot fine it.

Thanks

Gerard

The custom Pimoroni RP2350 uf2’s can be found here.

The Pico 2 W uf2 should get you up and running.

Excellent, thanks for a quick reply

I tried it and it didn’t work

I had to compile it myself

It took me all weekend but I got there

Here is the github link ggiblin/pico2w-display28-firmware: Custom MicroPython firmware for Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W with Pico Display 2.8 support

This is the firmware file that works for me

EDIT: The Pimoroni uf2 file I linked too above;
Worked OK for me on a Pico 2W with a Pico Display Pack 2?
MicroPython pico2_w_2025_09_19, on 2025-09-22; Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W with RP2350
My custom balls demo file ran without error.

Yes, balls demo now runs with my firmware

I’m not saying I’m a solution but as they say, it works for me

Thanks for your help

Ops, I should have said the Pimoroni file I linked too above, worked OK for me on a Pico 2W with a Pico Display Pack 2?

Not a problem
This was my first real Pico Project.

It’s better to have a birth of fire and learn lots, rather get it working first time and learn nothing.

To be honest, it is nice to have things work first time. That comes with experience, I usually find.

Thanks

Ger

Networking is not right

Working on it all night

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your specific issue / problem, when you tried the Pimoroni uf2 file?

First of all, I don’t know what I’m doing.
I’ve been using Linux for years but this is a new departure.
I was involved with the Arduino, when it first came out.

The Pico is a departure.

I’m just getting my head around things.

I couldn’t find the latest uf2 file for the Pick 2 W

I was compiling it from scratch.

I wasn’t working.

I found this tonight

It’s working great. I wish I found it last week!!
I’ve learned quite a bit while troubleshooting, so my time wasn’t wasted.

Thanks

New stuff equals new learning curve. I was you at one point. ;) Most of us here were there. =)
The link you posted is the same as the one I posted above in my first reply. There is a link to it on the Display Pack 2.8 shop page, but no links on the Pico 2W shop page? I can see where that will foul you up. I just happen to know where to go because I frequent that github page.

The project I’m working on is a CO2 Sensor using a SCD41. The data can be presented in a format that can be read by Prometheus. The can then be displayed using Grafana.

It has a static IP and is reading and displaying the sensor readings

The next step is to perfect the layout of the screen

Then present the data in a Prometheus exporter format.

The final step would to 3D print an enclosure for the display and sensor.

The SCD41 is quite an advanced sensor. It provides temperature, humidity and CO2 levels. It provides an auto calibration facility. I will have to manually calibrate the CO2 readings, as it takes about 4 hours to auto calibrate. It takes this long to auto calibrate every time it is restarted.
