Pico Plus 2 received

I pre-ordered one of the new Pico 2 boards as soon as it was announced but wanted to get my hands on the RP2350 ASAP, so ordered the Pimoroni Plus 2. It materialised yesterday.

Had a problem installing MicroPython from Thonny so downloaded the UF2 and installed it manually. It ran the Pico LED flasher program.

I also received a Tiny3350 and PGA2350.

The UF2 is only a preview version - not a release. As this is a ‘work in progress’ it not be fully working and produce errors with previously working code…

No doubt Thonny will get an update to coincide with the release of MicroPython v1.24 and all will work as expected.

I have found preview code to be generally reliable. I would not discourage anyone from installing it unless your code is mission critical. For evaluating new boards - why not? 😎

It fell over on the first program I tried. See here:

I have never had anything “fall over” when using the micropython.org builds. That includes working with the Pico W when it first came out. I have not used the Pimoroni builds.

I am not saying that there are no problems (I have been around too long for that!), just that it/they does/do not seem to have affected the code I have run.
