Why are 3.7V Batteries outputting 7.4V?

I bought the batteries listed below but when I measure them with a multi-meter they read 7.4V rather than 3.7V.
I was hoping to use a TP4056 to charge the batteries and an MT3608 to step-up the voltage to 5V but this doesn’t work if the batteries are outputting 7.4v.

I have bought 3 batteries and they’re all the same voltage.

Any suggestions / explanations?

Somethings not right? What are you using to measure them? They should top out at 4.2V fully charged.

Just realised the mutli-meter was set to AC (Duh!). Thanks for replying.

Everybody makes mistakes. No harm done though so that’s a good thing.
