Adafruit OLED Bonnet + pHAT DAC in Mini Black HAT Hack3r

#1

Hi,

I’m thinking to setup a pimusic server with the Zero W using the Pimoroni pHAT DAC as the audio source and the Adafruit 128x64 OLED Bonnet for viewing the name of what is sounding right now and controlling the volume and the songs with the buttons. To setup two different bonnets on the Zero W I’m thinking of using the Pimoroni Mini Black HAT Hack3r expansion board, but I dont know if the two bonnets are going to use the same pins on the hat and then render my idea useless.

Does anybody know which are the pins that the Adafruit 128x64 OLED Bonnet uses? The ones from the Pimoroni pHAT DAC are clear on https://pinout.xyz/pinout/phat_dac, but I’m not able to find the ones from the OLED.

Thanks everybody.

Kind regards,

Nacho

The TL;DR is yes, they should work together fine.

pHAT DAC only uses the I2S pins for audio input. Reading the tutorial for the OLED Bonnet, it looks like it uses I2C, a different protocol with different pins and multiple devices available on that bus.

Thanks a lot Sandy. I will buy them now and build the server.
