Bought an audio amp shim to use with PicorePlayer, but have been unsuccessful in getting any audio. I’ve now tried with a fresh install of Raspbian Buster and followed the instructions at pirate-audio/mopidy at master · pimoroni/pirate-audio · GitHub, but I’m still not getting any sound from:
speaker-test -c2
cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [sndrpihifiberry]: RPi-simple - snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac
snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac
groups
pi adm dialout cdrom sudo audio video plugdev games users input netdev gpio i2c spi
Odd that I still get the same result from:
cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [sndrpihifiberry]: RPi-simple - snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac
snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac
Even when there is no SHIM fitted.
I’ve now replaced the shim with a PHAT BEAT and I get audio. This leats me to suspect that my SHIM is faulty, unless I’m not getting contact to the pins and soldering a header would work?
Fixed the issue.
Poor contact between the pins and the SHIM.

I am having the same issue with poor contact between the pins and the Audio Amp SHIM. If anyone has an idea other than soldering a header I’d be glad to hear it. If not, it seems that’s what I’ll be doing.
