Good morning – I’m having some trouble with my new Amp SHIM, and I’m not quite sure how to test or troubleshoot the problem I’m having.
I installed it on a Pi Zero and connected it to a speaker, flashed a standard Raspbian image and set the appropriate settings in /boot/config.txt
. After a lot of trial and error I got speaker-test
to produce sound from my speaker by physically lifting up a little bit on the shim. This suggested to me that I was getting a bad connection with the friction-fit headers, so I decided to try soldering it into place – and now it won’t play at all.
Could my solder job have damaged something? Or is there something else I’m missing (or something I should have done instead of soldering on the SHIM?)
