Hi all, I have a question about the documentation for the Automation Hat. The product page that “The relays can tolerate up to 2A each and should be switched on the high side”, but doesn’t give any further explanation or context (that I’ve found) for why they should be switched on the high side. What exactly is the rationale for this?
The reason I ask is because I bought the hat to replace a pair of physical switches I’m using to interact with a sensor board that is switched on the low side, so I don’t have a choice about where to connect it. I don’t want to damage either piece of hardware, but wasn’t sure if that note was just a general safety tip pertaining to systems where shorts to ground are more likely.
Would it be safe to hook the hat relays up on the low-side in this type of scenario, or should I look for a different relay board?
