Bit\map Images on Pico Explorer Board

Hello to anyone who’s listening!

I would like to use a prewritten script that will allow me to put an indexed BMP file and display it on a Raspberry Pi Pico using a Pimoroni Explorer Base board. The image doesn’t have to be complicated, but I need to know where to store the image, on the pico, how to access it, and how to send it to the display.

I would like to be able to do this in CircuitPython or in MicroPython or even possibly in both. I have tried watching the tutorials from Adafruit, and other places on the Internet, but I seem to get lost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time in this matter, Dick Burkhartzmeyer

First let me say ,I know nuttin… but a google search shows for me its outside of my brainwaves … this is using Display and not the Pico explorer board Images and Animations on Raspberry Pi Pico Display pack (PNG / bitmap files) - YouTube

Thank you very much for that information. Not sure I’m up to it but I’ll give it a try. Always something new to learn!

I do believe they use the same driver chip. And the pinouts for each are on their respective shop page. I would think you could edit one for the other? Take your time, trial and error etc. If it was me it would be lots of errors, lol.

Thank you for the information, I will try just about anything. Dick

I have a Display Pack, I haven’t done the above with it though. Might give it a go over the weekend. Also just ordered an Explorer Pack for my PICO, and a couple more PICO’s. It will be a while before I see those, I cheeped out and used the snail mail shipping option.
