Configuring RecalBox with NVMe

I’ve built my picade max, and included a NVMe base initially using a SD card until the new NVMe arrived, which it did yesterday.

I’ve just transferred my SD card over to the NVMe, booted it up and all is good… BUT its not using the full space of the NVMe (128Gb of 1Tb).

Wondering what other people have done here about resizing the /recalbox/share partition…
Twitchy about finding a tool on linux to resize this exfat filesystem…!

I would do the following:

  • backup the partition-data
  • boot from SD
  • remove the partition
  • recreate it
  • reformat it
  • restore the data

That’s the process I had arrived at too.

Well… that’s a pain. If I’d realised, I’d have set out my partitions by hand before copying everything over. Well, you live and learn!

I think I’m going to switch to Batocera anyway - I’m finding MAME roms not working, that should (as they run on my PC).

Gotta love partioning mistakes… i no longer have a MSwindows system here to use due to a partioning mistake when changing my debian flavor in a newinstall (dual boot on one ssd) on my i7 laptop… so I to will have to get around to copying out my current SSD as an .img or backup and then repartition and reinstall my OSes and data.
I lost everything on my MS system partion which was my main MSwin machine. It Stunk.

I do use an NVMe to bootfrom on an unnamed Pi variant and I really don’t miss the gradual lag and degration of microSD performance and need to reflash inorder to regain that new OS speed and feeling.
I tried emmc boards and usually there is a conflict with microSD slots when installed, having an m.2 SSD for boot and usage is soo much nicer then either other option.
