Hyperpixel Touch 2.1 Round Trixie : No I2C, No Touch

Hi Support,

I got Hyperpixel Touch 2.1 Round working on Trixie but I’m unable to get touch to work nor I2C on Hyperpixel dedicated I2C connector.

Please don’t tell me to read documentation, just done 3 times, it just does not work. I also read other posts here, looks like I’m not the only one.

Here is my config

whatever I connect on Hyperpixel I2C connector I just see nothing and missing `/dev/i2c-11`

What should I do to at least have touch working? I bought this one for this feature

From the shop page:

if you need to rotate the display you can do this using Pi OS’s ‘Screen Configuration’ utility. Note that the kernel drivers for Round do not include touch support.

So the best thing is try the legay route.

yes of course.

I succeded to get all working flashing latest bulleye image, but to get all working I need to disable the overlay in config.txt if not you see boot process (OK and service lines starting) and few seconds later screen was black. So I commented out this line and all went fine. I think it’s now included in latest bulleye kernel drivers

Next try is to get things working with bookworm just to be sure.

got it to work on bookworm, some diff from documentation, I wrote a blog post for it.

Absolutely useful. I really enjoyed reading it. I also liked your post about improving boot-times. About six years ago I did a similar analysis, see Die Boot-Zeit von Raspbian optimieren - Raspberry Pi Geek (you probably have to run this through some translation engine).
