Hello.
I just got this product (Pimoroni HyperPixel 4.0 Square - Touch Display for Raspberry Pi - Capacitive Touch - PIM470) and plugged into my raspbery pi zero 2 w with included header. Unfortunately, there is no backlight even with the pi turned on. I have confirmed on the website that it is compatible.
The pi is turned on and is healthy.
Thank you
I’d try it with no case on the Pi, or with a booster header added. Just to be sure its making good contact with the GPIO header.
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I also do not have any luck outside of the PI case either.
Did you do the following?
Software
If you’re using a recent version of Raspberry Pi OS (Bullseye or later) then you’ll need to use the built in kernel drivers - just add the following line to the end of your boot/firmware/config.txt (and then reboot):
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dpi-hyperpixel4sq
You will need to have I2C disabled (sudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 1) along with any other interfaces that use the GPIO.
Hi. Yes I have done it all and has been tinkering it for past two days. Unfortunately, I can determine that it is a defective product. I have tested it from other student who has the same screen and their worked. Mine doesn’t seem to have any power running into the screen.
Ok, looks like its time to e-mail tech support.
