I already created an internet radio streaming device which is more or less hardware agnostic:
The repo links to four different builds, using various hardware from Pimoroni and others.
The “tactile” interface is currently only a bunch of buttons, but extending this to other input devices e.g. to a dial like the NTS player has, is simple if you are a programmer. It is not complete in the sense that it has a polished case or anything like that, but that again is no rocket-science.
