Passthru pins on Unicorn HAT?

I have a GPIO extender on my Unicorn HAT / Pi 3 because of how I have it mounted; now I want to add an additional device in using some set of unused GPIO pins. I thought I remembered reading that the number of pins used by the Unicorn is quite small, but I can’t find that source any more and I need to find out which pin(s) are available - also, can I just jumper wire something directly to those pins?

Just pin 18 power and ground and jumper wires should work
