Pimoroni MCP9600 Reverse Polarity Question

Hello,

I was looking to buy the universal I2C thermocouple module called Pimoroni MCP9600.

One of the headlining features of the board is “reverse polarity protection”.

Does this mean reverse voltage protection if you accidentally swap around the 3-5v pin and GND, or is this related to if you wire the thermocouple probe the wrong way around?

If it is reverse voltage protection, is this achieved with a low voltage drop diode, or some kind of Mosfet?

thanks for the help

That reverse voltage protection is to prevent damage to the breakout if you plug it into the Breakout Garden socket reversed / backwards. +3.3V and Ground would be reversed.
