Got a Pirate Audio Line Out last week and have been having fun once I realized that the install script was out of date. Fortunately the detailed step by step install instructions do work.
One problem I’ve noticed is that the display seems to time out after 30 seconds or so. A new file will bring it back. Sometimes pressing one of the buttons will bring it back. After an hour or so of use the display stops working altogether. Only a reboot will bring it back. I’m using it with a Pi Zero W. I’m running the current 32 bit OS with desktop. The HAT clears the highest part of the Pi by the height of the riser. I’ve experienced the same difficulty with a Pi 3A+ running the current 64 bit OS with desktop. My first working install was using the most recent 32 bit Buster version before I discovered that Bullseye also worked. It also had the display problem.
