PiTFT Installation and Setup

Hi,

I have a Raspberry Pi B+ with Raspbian installed and a PiTFT - Assembled 320x240 2.8" TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi resistive touch version. I would like to set it up so it shows the desktop and would work like it would plugged into a TV via the HDMI cable. I’ve looked at the tutorials and understand how to connect the hardware and do the easy install, but it is not clear to me how to set it to use the desktop.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated,

Hi Josh,

Adafruit have a great guide for setting up the PiTFT which goes through the steps of configuring X (the desktop environment) to use PiTFT. This is the relevant section: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pitft-28-inch-resistive-touchscreen-display-raspberry-pi/software-installation
