ah! I will try that, I always forget about the -dev packages.
YES! that did the trick… unfortunately this version of propman seems to be worst for me:
first try:
Connecting to ‘ttyAMA0’… Failed to write value!
Failed to write value!
ERROR: 9
[ ERROR 9 ]: Device unexpectedly disconnected!
[ NOT FOUND ]
second try (if within about 5 sec):
Connecting to ‘ttyAMA0’… Failed to write value!
Failed to write value!
[ DONE ]
Downloading to RAM… [ DONE ]
Verifying RAM… [ DONE ]
… it works though, but on top of version 0.1.1, as ou can see, it also spit out those ‘Failed to write value!’ message.
I will report using the parallax repo, but since this is a pimoroni product I wanted to post here: if anyone runs into those ‘ERROR 9’ as long as your code and wiring are good, it’s probably nothing to worry about (except the annoyance of having to upload your code twice rapidly in succession).
Well, at least for me I can’t really say I have noticed any operational issue with propman other those timeout and somewhat confusing messages, but it does what it’s supposed to do, upload your code to the hardware! (much better than the previous loader as I understand).
