Testing a new Trackball breakout (PIM447) using the demo.py for it in the micropython examples.
Even with the sensitivity reduced to zero, “LEFT” is barely detected. With demo.py, that means it rarely turns blue.
Is there any cleaning or disassembly posssible with this device? It’s brand new and I don’t want to harm it.
Thanks!
If you squeeze the plastic casing you can push the lugs out from the back of the board. Then the assembly of the trackball and the magnets which it works on comes off. Just be careful though, some of the pins and tabs are quite delicate. It might be worth checking if all of the rollers are being moved by the ball? If it was brand new you wouldn’t think it’d be dirty.
Otherwise you might be better emailing Pimoroni about it: support@pimoroni.com.
