Folks,

Just received my USB to UART adapter and would like to clarify; as power to Pi via usb then 0.5 amp is just enough for programming and not enough for attached USB devices.

Will the keyboard and screen work with just green and white connected and PSU powering Pi?

Yes, that’s right, you shouldn’t power the Pi both from USB and a PSU, so if you attach peripherals you’ll want to hook up only TX+RX only.

That said it depends how power hungry the devices are, and what Pi you are using.
