Using 18560 with LiPo kit

Is it possible to use things such as LiPo SHIM and 3.7V/4.2V LiPo Charger with an unprotected 18650 battery which is 3.6V/4.1V?

ideally something that provides charging and overdischarge protection in the same package would be ideal, e.g. can the pico lipo work with an unprotected 18650, shutting down at 3V?

The Pico Lipo has a XB6096I2S battery protector.
