Waveshare lcd negating picadehat

Hi All,

I am trying to build a mini arcade with a RPi2, PICADE HAT, and WAVESHARE 4" HDMI LCD.
My problem seems to lie in the WAVESHARE set-up.

I can get the picade hat working, but as soon as I follow the steps included in the following link, the picade hat is no longer recognized.

Any help would be appreciated.
