Weather HAT and Solar Charging

I have bought a Raspberry Pi, a Weather HAT and an Adafruit bq24074. I have also bought a case, but it might not be suitable for use with a HAT.

I am new to the Raspberry Pi world, and have never fitted a HAT before, so please excuse my ignorance.

If anyone here has used the Weather HAT and/or charger, could they answer two simple questions?

  1. Can the charger power the Raspberry Pi using the GPIO header? It’s supplied with what seem like suitable pins, but Adafruit doesn’t mention the Raspberry Pi in its documentation, so I don’t know if it’s suitable.

  2. If the charger can power the Raspberry Pi using the GPIO header, can the Weather HAT be fitted at the same time?

I’ve tried searching for the answer online, but have failed so far.

I couldn’t find a cable that would connect the Raspberry Pi to the charger when I searched yesterday, so I hope both can be fitted at the same time…

PS: I bought the Pi Zero with headers already soldered on.

Ooh, looks like fun. I’m curious too, and found this:

For use with Adafruit Lipoly/LiIon batteries only! Other batteries may have different voltage, chemistry, polarity or pinout.

So you cannot connect directly to the RPi, gotta go through an Adafruit battery.
