#1

Hello just built my Picade and having a fault, once the 3.5mm jack is inserted my screen turns of. Even touching the end of the jack turns it off? Any ideas what to check for

Thanks

How are you powering the Pi and screen?

Bought the picade as the whole kit so its all the standard stuff, the screen powered by the pi3 via usb and the pi3 has 2.5A supply

I’m pretty sure it won’t make any difference on a Pi3, but try adding the following to /boot/config.txt:

max_usb_current=1

if that does not resolve the problem, try to use a separate power supply for the screen.

I had the same issue. As soon as I connected the audio, everything went off. It turned out to be poor solder connections on the jack connector.
