500+ Power button stops working after update?

Hi,

Really pleased with my new 500+ however, the power button no longer works after a shutdown?

When I first got it I could power on the 500+ after a shutdown by pressing the power button, worked great however, after applying the updates to the O/S the power button no longer works and the only way I can power it on again after a shutdown is to pull out the USB C power cable and plug it in again.

I haven’t been able to find the cause for this nor a fix?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

PS: I am using the official Raspi PSU

I don’t have a Pi 500+, just so you know. My first thought is to have a look in Control Center for a Power Button setting. There is none listed for my Pi 400 or pi 5 though.

Firmware update maybe? If yes you may be able to recover by going back to the factory shipped firmware. There is an option to switch firmware in raspi-config.
Open the terminal and run sudo raspi-config
Then go to Advanced and then Boot Loader Version
And select the Default Factory Firmware option.
If it doesn’t help, just go back in and switch it back to latest.
I am guessing a bit on the above. Raspberry Pi don’t post much on the schematic / internals.
