I thought I was going to get yet more problems driving 64 x 64 LED Matrices. The Adafruit Matrix Portal M4 is an absolute disaster zone. I have spent months trying to tweak Adafruit Tutorials and failed miserably. I then bought the Adafruit RGB Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi, hoping for a better experience with Python than with CircuitPython. Every single demo crashes and resets the Pi. Not a power issue, I am running 5 Volt at 23 Amp. Hours later I found a very simple solution, just before I ripped out what is left of my hair. The demos do not want to work with my new ‘64 bit installation of Raspberry OS’, on a 4 Meg’ Pi 4. Reflash the SD Card to ‘32 bit Pi OS’ and some of the demos work. Just need to hunt for some instructions about which parameters to put where to get the rest of it working. This project is supposed to be simple enough for kids to do, who are they trying to fool.
