ADP005: LAN not working, one of the LEDs blinking in strange patterns

Hi,

I’ve got some trouble with the ADP005 USB hub / LAN adapter on my Raspi Zero 2: It used to work flawlessly, but after a couple of months, the LAN seems not to be working anymore. At least, my router doesn’t find my Pi. One of the blue LEDs on the adapter show steady blue light, whereas the other one (which sits next to the LAN port) blinks twice very shortly (2× ¼ sec) with a pause of some 1 sec in between in a regular pattern.

The Pi used to be set to get its IP voa DHCP, and the router is also a DHCP server.

What does this blinking mean? Is the adapter maybe broken? I’ve already tried out different cables and sockets, but no use. Thank you.

Have you tried that hub / adapter on another Pi? That should tell you if its a hardware or software issue?
Do you have a spare Micro SD Card? If yes do a fresh install of Pi OS and see what happens.
