My Badger2350 just arrived, a very nice piece of hardware. Of course I want to take it apart. Mainly because I want to do some power measurements. And to have a closer look at the electronics. So I have three questions:
how to best remove the polycarbonate case without breaking anything?
what are the specs for the LiPo connector? The connector seems to be too small for the standard PH2.0.
No schematics at the moment, but here’s our instructions and video guide for the casing:
“Case Assembly instructions
The front and back of the case are snapped together with four moulded clips around the edge of the back piece, two on each side.
To remove the case, unclip all four clips. We found it easiest to do one side at a time, and you may find it helpful to slip a fingernail between the two halves to get a little leverage. Make sure both sides are fully unclipped before trying to separate the case, otherwise you risk breaking the clips.
When fitting the new case, place the front on first, making sure it’s free of dust. Double-check that the battery cable is positioned neatly inside the case - you don’t want it trapped between the two halves - then snap the back into place. You’re good to go!”
As regards the battery connectors, yes, they’re smaller than the standard JST-PH in order to fit into the case. They are a 1.25mm Picoblade connector, made by Molex.
Thanks for the video. I was a bit impatient and just used a small screw-driver, inserting it in the holes in the back. It magically worked, without force.
Once off, I could see the connector and the type of the LiPo and that also led me to the Molex.
One more questions: how do I remove the LiPo? It seems to be glued to the PCB. I don’t want to work with heat. But that is something for the future, I expect the LiPo to last a while (it is rated for 500 charge cycles).
