Hello đ,
I recently bought a Pimoroni Badger 2040W, and had about two hours of fun with it, but when I plugged it into the USB-Port of my laptop, it suddenly released some magic smoke from one of the components on the board. Since then, I have not been able to use it in any way. I attached an image of the component that has burn marks around it, do you think if I desolder and replace it I might be able to salvage the badge? And, of course what is that component? A transistor?
The component is near the inductor and looking at the schematic, this could be the BSS138PW. But it is labeled âXJtâ (as far as I can tell) and I did not find any component with this marking.
I would suggest that you drop a note to support. This should not happen and maybe they can provide a replacement (but the Badger2040W it is actually listed as out of stock, so this might be a problem for them). But they could at least give you the exact part specs.
