Clipper HAT Mini - no success with minicom

I have tried to follow the “getting started” here: Getting Started with Clipper HAT Mini with 2 different zero’s, one just a zero and one a zero 2w.

Both attempts fail at the the minicom stage: I am unable to type “at” into the console. On the status line at the bottom it remains “Offline”.

On the zero 2w, I get text in the terminal

Welcome to minicom 2.8

OPTIONS: I18n
Port /dev/ttyS0, 16:31:20

which just seems to repeat indefinitely. On the plane zero I get nothing.

I have checked that the sim card (from talk mobile) works with my mobile phone. I have also tried just moving on with the steps in the guide but I don’t get my ppp network interface showing on either zero.

Edit: Orange light is on and green light is flashing.

Now, I’m at a loss as to what to try next. Any help would be grand thanks.

Have you removed the bluetooth driver from the OS startup? This cured the same sort of issue you have.
