Can anyone in the UK recommend an IoT SIM card provider whose SIM will work with the Clipper LTE HAT that is available for hobbyists? Every site I’ve been to is geared around business use only.
I’ve spent the last few days trying to get a few ‘normal’ SIM cards to work with absolutely no luck. Has anyone had success? If so, which provider?
Failing that, could the nice Pimoroni team do a deal with 1nce to allow us to get into IoT without having to create a business and register for VAT?

I just use a giffgaff PAYG SIM. £10 top-up gets you far on this system.
You should just be able to run:
MOBILE_APN = “giffgaff.com”
con = lte.LTE(MOBILE_APN, skip_reset=False) #replace ‘MOBILE_APN’ with whatever SP you use
con.start_ppp(connect=True)
Then the terminal should output a load of data and you’ll be connected. But just be aware, it may be my unit but I have had loads of issues with this breakout, some documented commands don’t work, AT commands are locked down and other content is super restricted.
Ended up buying a SMARTY data only SIM card. Can confirm this works.

Well, it’s working like a dream for me. It’s a data only plan. Currently on a 15gb plan for £9pm (inc VAT). Got the card. Registered it with SMARTY using their iPhone app. Plugged it in and was up and running in a few minutes. The app allows you to monitor data usage which is pretty useful.
