Display-O-Tron LCD compatible with Display-O-Tron 3000

I’ve accidentally smashed the screen on my Display-O-Tron 3000 and was wondering if the Display-O-Tron LCD will work as a solder in replacement?

I thought it would be best to check as the Display-O-Tron 3000 info says its a “3x16 character display with 3 RGB backlights” and the Display-O-Tron HAT info says “a six-zone RGB backlight” but the info for the Display-O-Tron LCD does not say which Display-O-Tron its for.

The Display-o-Tron LCD is the same on both the 3000 and the HAT. It’ll be challenging to desolder, but if it’s smashed then it probably doesn’t matter if you snip off all the pins and pop them out one by one :D

The backlight consists of separate components that we’ve added ourselves! So it’s not part of the LCD at all.

Thanks for the reply, yes snipping the pins was my plan. It does look a bit tricky but I wanted to try and fix it for the fun of it if nothing else!
