Electronics kit for 11 year old

#1

Hi there - my 11 year old son has requested a bundle of general purpose electronics stuff for Christmas.

He is is quite inventive, likes playing with motors (taken out of old toy cars etc) and turning them into other things, and already has a good standard of electronics and programming (html). So I’d say he was closer to intermediate than beginner.

I’ve looked around for a general purpose set of electronic bits and pieces (his granny wants to pay for it!) but I am struggling to find anything that looks quite right. We have about £50 to spend. Can anyone recommend anything? Or suggest a set of components that I could buy individually and package up?

Cheers

Graham
