Enviroweather solid red LED - inconsisten behaviour

I have an envrioweather and had got it running ok (in the summer)
It has been left for some time not doing anything.

I am powering it from a lipo amigo pro connected to my laptop.

The first time i turned it on, i got a solid red light. Nothing else worked. Reset (with reset and poke) button just switched it off - no longer responsive.

Unlugged it, and then ried it again and got slow flashing white led (which i think means all ok) and my local network detected it connecting.

Tried doing reset becuase i want to start fresh, and it just went non responsive.

Unpugged it tired again. Red light.

Unplugged it tried again, slow flashing white light but not connected to netwrk.

At no point has it uploaded data to adafruit (since last summer)
I just want to wipe it and start agina… but it is not playing ball.

What can i do?

When you say you did a “reset”, what exactly did you do?

Hold poke button and press reset button.

I’ve tried it with different lengths of time pressing the buttons and every time it just shuts down. No leds.

Ah, OK, thanks for clarifying. If you want to wipe it clean and start over fresh you can reflash the Pico.

If you scroll down to the Starting from Scratch there is a link to the flash_nuke.uf2 file. Put it in boot mode and copy that over to wipe it clean. Then re flash it with the current custom uf2 file.

Ah - that’s what i was looking for - a way of completely clearing it out and starting again.

Thanks - I’ll give it a go.

I’ve connected via usb to my laptop…

i can’t connect to it from my laptop like i could when i provisioned it.

When i plugged it in via usb to my laptop the white led pulsed, and it connected to my wifi.
Thonny cant see it. Previously it woudl appear in the bottom left of thonny in the drop down.

I tried to reset it with the reset/poke button again and it just switched off. When i plugged it back in it is no longer connected to the netwoek and i still can;t connect to it.

Is it just dead?

ok - i just kept resetting and i can connect now no idea what was happening…

i’m an idiot.

The cable i was using was not data enabled. I will throw that away immediately…

THanks verymuch for the help.

Ah crap, I’m slipping in my old age. :( I should have asked you if you tried more than one USB cable. Well at least you finally got it working.
