HDMI 8" IPS LCD Screen Kit (PIM372)

I have the HDMI 8" IPS LCD Screen Kit (PIM372) which works perfectly for my purposes, but powering int via USB is not ideal as I have a nice 5V supply available in my project.

The control board has a 5V and GND connection points marked - would it be possible for me to power the screen via these connection points? (or are these just an output?)

Do you have access to an OHM meter / multi meter?
If yes measure the continuity from the +5V pad back to the +5V pin on the Micro USB power plug. It its Zero or close to it, it should be doable. I think that pin is intended to be a +5V out, but it likely comes right from the +5V in on the board. The Ground should be ground, it should be one common ground for the whole board.

Disclaimer, this is still a do so at your own risk type of deal, until you hear something right from somebody at Pimoroni.
