Hyperpixel4 and videos in VLC

Hi Everyone,

I realise this is principally about VLC but everything has been working great except when using the Hyperpixel 4. I’ve got this hooked up to a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and am running Buster so that I can rotate the screen.

Firstly, in the VLC app has anyone figured out how to have the video fill the screen in full-screen mode? Currently, I get a small cropped section from the top left-hand side and can’t find a way to fix this.

Secondly, I’ve been running vlc-python with a simple script to play videos when you open a box. While this works over the HDMI, when running on the Hyperpixel4 I get the following error:

mmal: mmal_vc_port_enable: failed to enable port vc.ril.hvs:out:0(BGRA): ENOMEM

I’m not experienced enough to understand this but I’m struggling to find any information. I’m guessing it has something to do with where VLC is trying to output the video?

I’m sure many people use the Hyperpixel4 to play videos so I’m hoping someone might give me some clues to a way forward.

Thanks.
