I2C Garden Extenders discontinued?

Hi, it seems that the Breakout Garden I2C Garden Extenders, the socket-to-5-pin adapters are no longer listed either separately or as part of the paired kit. It seems they’ve been replaced by the Qwiic connector version, but for those of us who are big users of the Breakout Garden series, having the ability to connect a 5 pin Dupont connector to a Breakout Garden socket is extremely handy, almost vital to the whole point of being able to use the breakout boards in ways that don’t tie them physically to the location of the socket.

Could you please consider reissuing them as products? I guess I could somehow make my own through a Taiwanese PCB company but that seems really a shame to have to resort to. I’ve run out of the ones I have and can’t figure out how to make a connection now without some kind of hack. There must be lots of people who over the years have purchased Breakout Garden boards where these are still really handy.

Thanks for your consideration.

I have a need for a “few” of those also, and was disappointed when they went MIA. Thing is though, is there enough of us buying them to justify making them?

These days I use the QWICC cables.

Well, they’re an accessory for what is one of Pimoroni’s major lines of products, so they might not sell as well as a new product, but most companies provide nuts and bolts type things that are either necessary or helpful when using their products. I’d consider this a nuts and bolts item. I use Qwiic for some things, but a lot of what I’m doing is not Qwiic and never will be. I often hand-make Dupont cable assemblies as the breakout board isn’t near the Breakout Garden socket. Especially for sensors that can’t possibly sit in a socket in order to function, or to connect I2C devices that aren’t Pimoroni Breakout Garden hardware-compatible.
