I left my inky impression in the drawer with an intact picture on the display. Today, I reinstalled all of the software and tried some of the examples. No matter what I do, the top 1/4 of the display seems to miss some colours and/or lines. Is this a hardware defect that developed spontaneously while being in the drawer, or is this some sort of software issue?
If you haven’t already, I would unplug the Pi and remount it. Maybe even try a different Pi?
I have re-seated the ribbon cable, and switched the Pi, with no effect. Below are two more pictures. I find these things strange:
- Around the faulty area, it works (top, bottom, left, right). Usually is a line or column driver is not connected, the entire area is affected.
- Every other line works in the affected area.
- Even the faulty area updates: The faulty black lines are black, and in the last picture they were yellow. So they are physically connected to the update circuitry.
Is this a software problem after all? But if so, I’d expect more bug reports.
Thanks, Martin
I don’t own one, just so you know. There are a few here that do, so hopefully one of them joins in.
